Tbilisi International Airport – TBS
17 kilometers southeast of Tbilisi
Bus:
The municipal bus stop is located in front of the Arrival hall and provides passenger transportation on route # 337 – Airport – Tbilisi city center – Airport.
Taxi:
Taxi service at Tbilisi International Airport is available outside the terminal, just at the curbside of the Arrival Hall and provides 24-hour service to the passengers. The journey time to the city center takes 20-30 minutes dependent on traffic. Taxi fee depends on taxi meter indication (From 40 to 60 GEL).
Kutaisi International Airport – KUT
250 kilometers west of Tbilisi
Bus transfer to Tbilisi:
Connections according to the flight schedule provided by following companies: georgianbus.com and omnibusexpress.ge. The journey time to Tbilisi is 4 to 5 hours dependent on traffic. Price per person is 25 GEL.
Tbilisi Public Transportation
Metro:
One of the most popular city transports is Metro which costs 1 GEL. The underground rail system operates two lines, the Akhmeteli-Varketili Line and the Saburtalo Line. Trains run from 6:00 am to midnight.
Municipal bus and minibus:

Tickets and plans:
Single fare for all types of Tbilisi public transportation is 1 GEL for 90 minutes of unlimited travel.
Payment is possible with a special prepaid “MetroMoney” card, subscription card or any bank card with the chip, regardless of the country of origin or currency.
Purchase of subscription and “Metro money” card is possible to any payment office of metro stations of Tbilisi and at the express branches of the Bank of Georgia. The cost of a card is 2 GEL (please keep the receipt issued during the purchase of the card, as in case of loss or damage of the card it can be restored only through the receipt issued at the time of card purchase).
Fares:
- 1 GEL – 90 minutes unlimited free travel – payment is possible with a ” Metro money” card, as well as with different bank cards*.
- 3 GEL – 1-day unlimited travel – package purchase is possible only with a subscription card.
- 20 GEL – 1- week unlimited travel – package purchase is possible only with a subscription card.
Accommodation
Tbilisi offers a wide range of accommodation options located in all parts of the city. Suggested areas for hotel reservation would be Vake District (where the university is located) or Old Tbilisi (where most of the attractions are).
