Towards a climate resilient City – sharing our (mixed) experience with citizen science/participation projects between City administration and HEIRs in Hannover (Germany) and Nottingham (UK)
Cities already address climate change and work on urban development plans and actions for creating climate resilience. Hannover and Nottingham benefit from the expertise of regional researchers, students, and citizen science activities during City dialogs, political participation, and science communication. We talk about achievements, one-hit-wonders, and some disappointments during the process of co-creating and their outcome.
Theda Minthe shares experience with including researchers and students of landscape/architecture in the public City Dialog to gather new ideas for the transformation of the inner City.
Iris Klassen introduces the „Walk the Talk” – a co-creative testing of new methods for idea development.
They will both presents the festival ‘Green Hustle’, leading to new collaborations between citizens, culture/arts, and universities with an increasingly significant role in Nottingham’s Carbon Neutral 2028 action plan partnership.
This event will be held as a hybrid event with Jon Rea, Nottingham City, joining remotely.
