May 15 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

Denis Naughten MP, Inter-Parliamentary Union, Geneva and Maurizio Bona – former science advisor, CERN, Geneva

Bridging Divides Through Science: A Dialogue on Peacebuilding

Amidst growing global divides, our dialogue “Bridging Divides Through Science: A Dialogue on Peacebuilding” offers timely insight. We’ll explore how science, a universal language, can unite us to tackle global challenges through evidence-based policymaking and collaboration. Highlighting the success of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Science for Peace School in addressing issues like water scarcity in conflict regions, we’ll showcase how science can bridge gaps between nations. Our aim is to inspire a fusion of science and politics, promoting cooperation and equitable solutions. Attendees will gain insights into using science as a neutral platform for addressing shared problems, fostering international cooperation and lasting peace. This session innovatively utilizes science to transcend political divides, offering practical solutions for global challenges.
